Me and my best friend Dr. Egon Spengler Reinert
You’re never too old to try something new right?!
That’s what I told myself when I was walking into my first yoga class at the age of 40. One hour and six months later, I was a certified yoga instructor.
I took my teacher training at the studio where I took my first class, HYPE Silverlake in Los Angles, earning my 200hr Yoga Alliance certification.
What yoga means to me is so much more that just a great workout. It’s about being patient with yourself. It’s about being in the moment. It’s about being part of a community. It’s about being one with yourself. It’s about feeling safe. It’s about personal growth. It’s truly a spiritual journey.
My teaching style emphases breathe work and purposeful movements. With the goal of feeling grounded, focused and powerful! Be ready for great playlists, some bad jokes and weird voices throughout class. I was taught to bring my personality to my teaching so lucky you!
I want my classes to be a safe space for everyone. For one hour we get to clear our minds of the outside world and focus your attention on your body and your breathe. Maybe shed a tear, maybe laugh! The goal is to make you leave my class feeling a lil bit better than you did when you walked in.
When I’m not teaching or taking classes, I’m bikin’, hikin’, kayakin’, campin’, cookin’, fishin’, lisitin’ to vinyl, watchin’ movies, a bartender, and sometimes a handyman!
So come stretch and have some fun!
And who knows, maybe in an hour and six months, you too will be a Yoga Instructor!!
